Collaroy Extension
Collaroy Plateau, Northern Beaches, Sydney

This project was an exercise in maximising a site’s potential for a multi-generational family. The building works included a renovation of the existing home, a covered deck extension and pool as well as new ‘garden sheds’ at the far boundary. Consent was obtained for the works via three concurrent approval processes.
The new extension features an entertainer’s kitchen and large sliding doors that retract to blur the divide between inside and outside spaces. With a large covered deck area, outdoor living can now be enjoyed throughout the year.
Renovation of the facade of the existing home was kept very simple, with detailing focused on maintaining and improving the look and proportion with new balustrades and a more modern colour palette.
Editor Interiors carried out design and specification of the interiors during the Design phase, which was integrated into the architectural package for the builder. Additional decorating services were carried out following occupation of the home by the owners.
